The new World.
Andy has managed to combine EVERY PART OF TECHNOLOGY by browsing this livejournal through our television by accessing the computer while on the wii. Pfffhewwwww.

I am still disturbed by New Zealand's attitude to switching from quarantining to "whatever" on swine flu. It's like they hit 100 cases and then were like, aw shit, this is like way too hard. Fuck it, sort your own shit, we tried. XD

It's way too cold for me to thin at the moment. It's just mental. Winter here SUCKS! It's almost as bad as Derry. And Derry is motherfucking cold.

I don't understand quantum computing. Can someone help? I just don't get it. I feel like a fucking idiot when I'm reading about entanglement and other bullshit because I'm like, WTF, I have NO IDEA WHAT THIS SHIT MEANS. I understand there are words and shit but wtf.

They've been like that here with swine flu, too. Now so many people have it, they really don't give a fuck.

That's what Victoria did. "Yeah, so many people have it. Oh....eh, whatever, it probably won't kill you. If you feel really sick go to the hospital or something"

Don't worry, as long as they don't get Madagascar, humanity will live on! At least that's why I can never freaken beat pandemic....

Entanglement is:
A) It is 10 years in the past. You have not met Andy. You are confronted with a situation, and act in a certain way.
B) Now it is the present, you have met Andy. You are confronted with the same situation, and act in a different way.
C) Now it is the future, you and Andy are not immediately proximal. You are confronted with That Situation again, and you act as in B.
You are entangled with Andy; despite distance, he has an effect on your reaction. You have not reverted to Reaction A.

... Is the super simple explanation. Next time I'll try to write it into a jig or something more memorable.

Here is an article postulating against entanglement in quantum computing: http://www.physorg.com/news147698804.html, so maybe you can understand if you reverse engineer it... In your mind.

Oooooh.

That's very quantum. I think I get it now.

In regular computers, you have bits. To process that information, every bit is essentially represented as a wire. You need 8 bit-wires to represent a byte, and each bit-wire either has current or it does not -- it's either on or off, either 1 or 0.

In a quantum computer, information is stored as quantum wave states which can stack on top of each other in a single wire. A q-bit (quantum bit) shares space with potentially hundreds or thousands of other q-bits. You only need one wire to process them all simultaneously. Each wire might have a thousand 'on' q-bits and another thousand 'off' q-bits, and the quantum computer can keep track of them all. So you see that a quantum computer theoretically processes at ENORMOUSLY OMG FASTER speeds than a regular computer.

Quantum computing has nothing to do with entanglement. Entanglement is something else that's mostly theory, while quantum computing is real and being developed now.

That makes sense quantum computer wise, but now I'm confused again. I've been reading articles that say that now they have managed entanglement okay, this will contribute to making a quantum computer.

Nebraska is like 105 degrees out. At night. It is so hot that my sister-in-law and niece showed up at my parents house to sleep because their air conditioning is broken and five fans in two bedrooms is not enough.
